NATIONAL STUDENT RECRUITMENT DRIVE FOR GRADUATE SCIENCE EDUCATION

The Faculty of Medicine is hosting its annual National Recruitment Drive of outstanding candidates for graduate studies. Up to 30 top ranked students will be flown to Calgary to meet potential supervisors, current graduate students, and visit the city.  All expenses paid.  Visit will take place March 16 - 19, 2011. NEUROSCIENCE GRADUATE  WINS PRESTIGIOUS INTERNATIONAL AWARD

MDNS graduate Christopher Gregg is the winner of the prestigious international neuroscience award. Gregg has been awarded the Eppendorf Science Prize for Neurobiology for his work on how inherited maternal and paternal genes affect the brains of children.

GOVERNOR GENERAL'S GOLD MEDAL AWARDED TO MDNS STUDENT KARL IREMONGER

MDNS Student Karl Iremonger is the winner of the prestigious Governor General's Gold Medal at the Doctoral level.  This prestigious award exhibits excellence and to both Karl and the Department of Neuroscience. These medals will be awarded at the November 12, 2010 Convocation Ceremony at the University of Calgary. For more information on Karl or the Department of Neuroscience, click here. 


GSE CONGRATULATES CHANCELLOR'S GRADUATE MEDAL WINNERS! 

Students Dr. Elizabeth Long and Rhonda Fur are recipients of the prestigious Chancellor's Graduate Medal.
Elizabeth is a student in the Medical Science Graduate Program  and is the recipient at the Doctoral level.  Rhonda is a Community Health Sciences student and recieved the medal for the Masters level. The Chancellor's Graduate Medal recognizes outstanding scholastic achievment among students graduating at the masters and doctoral level.
These medals will be awarded at the November 12, 2010 Convocation Ceremony at the University of Calgary.

Welcome to Graduate Studies in the Faculty of Medicine. We offer outstanding graduate programs that integrate top-notch education with cutting-edge research in areas and disciplines ranging from basic biomedical research to translational to patient and population research. We currently have close to 480 students in our 3 course-based and 8 thesis-based programs. The Faculty of Medicine is also home to 200 postdoctoral fellows.
