Greg Kawchuk, PhD, holds a Canada Research Chair in Spinal Function. An Associate Professor in the Department of Physical Therapy, Faculty of Rehabilitation, University of Alberta, Kawchuk is working to develop several new tools to measure spine function, many of which are now undergoing clinical trials. From this work, he hopes to measure when the spine is working properly (and when it is not) to improve the prevention and treatment of back related problems.
