Biography

About me
I'm Aashka Mohite, and I’m originally from Gujarat, India. I completed my B.Tech in Software Engineering from India and am currently pursuing an MSc in Electrical and Software Engineering with a specialization in medical imaging at the University of Calgary, working in Dr. Ethan MacDonald’s lab.

My research
My research focuses on enhancing Brain Age Gap predictions by integrating genetic information into a machine-learning model. Utilizing MRI and genetic data from the UK Biobank Dataset, I aim to improve the accuracy of these predictions, contributing to identifying individuals susceptible to neurological aging decline and identifying genes for targeted precision medicine therapies.

BRAIN CREATE program aspirations
I am thrilled about the opportunity to engage in extreme expeditions, which provide opportunities for adventurous pursuits, new experiences, and connections with fellow researchers and scientists.

Commercialization
My research, focusing on the impact of genetics on brain aging, aims to enhance proactive and preventive health plans. By integrating brain MRI and genomic data, I anticipate offering a valuable algorithm for licensing to advanced health assessment organizations, promoting practical applications in commercial healthcare solutions.
